SEEKING:

[ SMITH ]
-a 10-year-old East Indian boy who has recently moved with his family to Ponca City, Oklahoma (the year is 1979). He is a shy, quirky child who is trying to become a good ole American boy, despite having very traditional Indian parents who will not let him forget where he comes from. His roll model and hero is Vietnam vet and next door neighbor Butch Brunner, a tow truck driver with a healthy passion for his wife. Smith, though young, is an utter romantic and falls in love with the first girl who is nice to him, which happens to be Butch’s daughter Amy. He fantasizes about marrying her someday but his father puts a wrench in that dream when he arranges for Smith to marry an Indian girl. Smith’s dilemma is how to be an American stud out in the world, but at home remain a respectable Indian boy
so his parents will not send him back to India and away from his love and his hero…LEAD

*We are conducting a nationwide search to cast the title role of “Smith” for our upcoming film GOOD OL’ BOY starring Jason Lee (“My Name Is Earl”). Shooting in New York starting this May. The role is a 10-year-old East Indian boy to play Anjul Nigam’s son. Must be handsome, charismatic and sweet… and oh yeah, must be able to act!

*Visual reference: must be believable as the son of actor playing Bhaaskar (Anjul Nigam, www.imdb.com/name/nm0631413)
